Hadith 1470
1470 صحيح حديث جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، قَالَ: غَزَوْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ غَزْوَةَ نَجْدٍ فَلَمَّا أَدْرَكَتْهُ الْقَائِلَةُ، وَهُوَ فِي وَادٍ كَثِيرِ الْعِضَاهِ، فَنَزَلَ تَحْتَ شَجَرَةٍ، وَاسْتَظَلَّ بِهَا، وَعَلَّقَ سَيْفَهُ فَتَفَرَّقَ النَّاسُ فِي الشَّجَرِ يَسْتَظِلُّونَ وَبَيْنَا نَحْنُ كَذَلِكَ إِذْ دَعَانَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَجِئْنَا، فَإِذَا أَعْرَابِيٌّ قَاعِدٌ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ فَقَالَ: إِنَّ هذَا أَتَانِي وَأَنَا نَائِمٌ فَاخْتَرَطَ سَيْفِي فَاسْتَيْقَظْتُ وَهُوَ قَائِمٌ عَلَى رَأْسِي، مُخْتَرِطٌ صَلْتًا قَالَ: مَنْ يَمْنَعكَ مِنِّي قُلْتُ: اللهُ فَشَامَهُ، ثُمَّ قَعَدَ فَهُوَ هذَا قَالَ: وَلَمْ يُعَاقِبْهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ
Narrated Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him): We went out with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) towards Najd for a battle. When it was midday, he reached a forest where there were many acacia trees. He stayed under a dense tree for shade and hung his sword on the tree. The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) also spread out under the trees to get shade. While we were in this state, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) called us. We came to him and saw that a Bedouin was sitting in front of him. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: This man came to me while I was sleeping. He drew my sword and I woke up. He was standing over my head with my unsheathed sword and said to me, "Who will save you from me today?" I said, "Allah!" (That man was so overawed by just this one word that) he put the sword back in its sheath and sat down. And look, here he is sitting. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did not punish him.
