Hadith 1446
1446 صحيح حديث عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ: عُذِّبَتِ امْرَأَةٌ فِي هِرَّةٍ سَجَنَتْهَا حَتَّى مَاتَتْ، فَدَخَلَتْ فِيهَا النَّارَ، لاَ هِيَ أَطْعَمَتْهَا وَلاَ سَقَتْهَا إِذْ هِيَ حَبَسَتْهَا، وَلاَ هِيَ تَرَكَتْهَا تَأْكلُ مِنْ خَشَاشِ الأَرْضِ
Narrated Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said that a woman from the Children of Israel was punished because of a cat which she had kept tied up until it died of starvation, and because of this she entered Hell. While she kept the cat tied up, she neither gave it anything to eat nor to drink, nor did she let it go so that it could eat the insects of the earth.
