Hadith 1437
1437 صحيح حديث أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ رضي الله عنه، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ: لاَ عَدْوَى وَلاَ طِيَرَةَ، وَيُعْجِبُنِي الْفَأْلُ قَالُوا: وَمَا الْفَأْلُ قَالَ: كَلِمَةٌ طَيِّبَةٌ
Hazrat Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There is no such thing as contagion and no evil omen, but I like a good omen." The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) asked, "What is a good omen?" The Prophet replied, "A good word spoken or heard from someone."

Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: "There is no reality in bad omens, but taking a good omen is not objectionable." The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) asked, "What is a good omen?" He replied, "A good word that any one of you hears."

Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: There is no reality in contagiousness of diseases and bad omens, and if there were any ill-omen, it would be in three things: a woman, a house, and a horse.
