Hadith 1437
1437 صحيح حديث أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ رضي الله عنه، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ: لاَ عَدْوَى وَلاَ طِيَرَةَ، وَيُعْجِبُنِي الْفَأْلُ قَالُوا: وَمَا الْفَأْلُ قَالَ: كَلِمَةٌ طَيِّبَةٌ
Hazrat Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There is no such thing as contagion and no evil omen, but I like a good omen." The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) asked, "What is a good omen?" The Prophet replied, "A good word spoken or heard from someone."
Hadith 1438
1438 صحيح حديث أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ: لاَ طِيَرَةَ، وَخَيْرُهَا الْفأْلُ قَالُوا: وَمَا الْفأْلُ قَالَ: الْكَلِمَةُ الصَّالِحَةِ يَسْمَعُهَا أَحَدُكُمْ
Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: "There is no reality in bad omens, but taking a good omen is not objectionable." The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) asked, "What is a good omen?" He replied, "A good word that any one of you hears."
Hadith 1439
1439 صحيح حديث ابْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ: لاَ عَدْوَى وَلاَ طِيَرَةَ، وَالشُّؤْمُ فِي ثَلاَثٍ: فِي الْمَرْأَةِ وَالدَّارِ وَالدَّابَّةِ
Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: There is no reality in contagiousness of diseases and bad omens, and if there were any ill-omen, it would be in three things: a woman, a house, and a horse.
Hadith 1440
1440 صحيح حديث سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ السَّاعِدِيِّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ: أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " إِنْ كَانَ فِي شَيْءٍ، فَفِي المَرْأَةِ، وَالفَرَسِ، وَالمَسْكَنِ "
Hazrat Sahl bin Sa’d Sa’idi (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If there were to be any ill-omen, it would be in the horse, the woman, and the house.
