Hadith 1421
1421 صحيح حديث جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ رضي الله عنهما، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ: إِنْ كَانَ فِي شَيْءٍ مِنْ أَدْوِيَتِكُمْ، أَوْ يَكُونُ فِي شَيْءٍ مِنْ أَدْوِيَتِكُمْ، خَيْرٌ، فَفِي شَرْطَةِ مِحْجَمٍ، أَوْ شَرْبَةِ عَسَلٍ، أَوْ لَذْعَةٍ بِنَارٍ تُوَافِقُ الدَّاءَ، وَمَا أُحِبُّ أَنْ أَكْتَوِيَ
Hazrat Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that I heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: If there is any good in your remedies, or he said: If there is good in these remedies of yours, then it is in cupping, drinking honey, and cauterization with fire, if it suits the illness. But I do not like cauterization with fire.
Hadith 1422
1422 صحيح حديث ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رضي الله عنهما، قَالَ: احْتَجَمَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَأَعْطَى الْحَجَّامَ أَجْرَهُ
Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) had cupping done and also paid the one who performed the cupping. (If cupping were unlawful, then he would neither have it done nor pay for it.)
Hadith 1423
1423 صحيح حديث أَنَسٍ رضي الله عنه، قَالَ: كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَحْتَجِمُ، وَلَمْ يَكُنْ يَظْلِم أَحَدًا أَجْرَهُ
Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) had cupping done, and he (peace be upon him) never wronged anyone regarding wages for work.
Hadith 1424
1424 صحيح حديث ابْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ: الْحُمَّى مِنْ فَيْحِ جَهَنَّمَ فَأَبْرِدُوهَا بِالْمَاءِ
Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) narrated that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Fever is due to the effect of the heat of Hell. Therefore, cool it with water.
Hadith 1425
1425 صحيح حديث أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، كَانَتْ، إِذَا أُتِيَتْ بِالْمَرْأَةِ قَدْ حُمَّتْ تَدْعُو لَهَا، أَخَذَتِ الْمَاءَ فَصَبَّتْهُ بَيْنَهَا وَبَيْنَ جَيْبِهَا قَالَتْ: وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَأْمُرُنَا أَنْ نَبْرُدَهَا بِالْمَاءِ
When a woman suffering from fever was brought to Hazrat Asma bint Abi Bakr Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with her), she would supplicate for her and pour water into her collar. She used to say that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded us to cool fever with water.
Hadith 1426
1426 صحيح حديث رَافِعِ بْنِ خَدِيجٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: الْحُمَّى مِنْ فَوْحِ جَهَنَّمَ، فَابْرُدُوهَا بِالْمَاءِ
Hazrat Rafi' bin Khadij (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that I heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: "Fever is from the heat of Hell, so cool it with water."
