Hadith 1415
1415 صحيح حديث عَائِشَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ، إِذَا اشْتَكَى، يَقْرَأُ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ بِالْمَعَوِّذَاتِ، وَيَنْفُثُ فَلَمَّا اشْتَدَّ وَجَعُهُ كُنْتُ أَقْرَأُ عَلَيْهِ، وَأَمَسَحُ بِيَدِهِ، رَجَاءَ بَرَكَتِهَا
Narrated Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her): When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) fell ill, he would recite the Mu'awwidhat (the chapters seeking refuge) and blow over himself (so that some saliva would come out with the breath). Then, when his illness became severe (in his final illness), I would recite these chapters and, hoping for blessing, would wipe his blessed body with his own hands.
