Hadith 1392
I heard from Hazrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him), he used to narrate that I came to the service of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) regarding the debt that was upon my father. I knocked on the door. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) inquired: Who is it? I said, "It is me." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "'It is me,' 'It is me,'" as if he disliked this answer. (Because sometimes, just from the voice, the owner of the house cannot recognize who it is, so one should mention one's name in reply.)
