Hadith 1352
1352 صحيح حديث أَبِي هرَيْرَةَ رضي الله عنه، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَنَّهُ نَهى عَنْ خَاتَمِ الذَّهَبِ
Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade men from wearing gold rings.
Hadith 1353
1353 صحيح حديث ابْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، اصْطَنَعَ خَاتَمًا مِنْ ذَهَبٍ، وَكَانَ يَلْبَسُهُ، فَيَجْعَلُ فَصَّهُ فِي بَاطِنِ كَفِّهِ فَصَنَعَ النَّاسُ ثُمَّ إِنَّهُ جَلَسَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ فَنَزَعَهُ، فَقَالَ: إِنِّي كُنْتُ أَلْبَسُ هذَا الْخَاتَمَ وَأَجْعَلُ فَصَّهُ مِنْ دَاخِلٍ فَرَمَى بِهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ: وَاللهِ لاَ أَلْبَسُهُ أَبَدًا فَنَبَذَ النَّاسُ خَوَاتِيمَهُمْ
Narrated Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them): The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had a gold ring made and he used to wear it, placing its stone towards the palm of his hand. Then people also had similar rings made. After that, one day the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) sat on the pulpit, took off his ring, and said: I used to wear it and kept its stone on the inside, then he took it off and threw it away and said: By Allah! I will never wear it again. So the people also took off their rings and threw them away.
