Hazrat Abu Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that a companion from among the Ansar, whose kunyah was Abu Shu’aib (may Allah be pleased with him), came and said to his servant, who was a butcher, “Prepare food for me that will be sufficient for five people. I intend to invite the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and four other men, because I have seen the signs of hunger on the blessed face of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).” So he invited the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). Another person also came along with him. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “Another person has come with us. If you wish, you may allow him as well, and if you wish, you may send him back.” He said, “No, rather I give him permission as well.”
