Hadith 1280
1280 صحيح حديث جُنْدَبٍ، قَالَ: صَلَّى النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَوْمَ النَّحْرِ ثُمَّ خَطَبَ ثُمَّ ذَبَحَ، فَقَالَ: مَنْ ذَبَحَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُصَلِّيَ فَلْيَذْبَحْ أُخْرَى مَكَانَهَا، وَمَنْ لَمْ يَذْبَحْ فَلْيذْبَحْ بِاسْمِ اللهِ
Hazrat Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) delivered a sermon after performing the prayer on the day of Eid al-Adha. Then he offered the sacrifice. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever has slaughtered (the animal) before the prayer should offer another animal as a sacrifice in its place, and whoever has not slaughtered before the prayer should slaughter in the name of Allah.
Hadith 1281
1281 صحيح حديث الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ، قَالَ: ضَحَّى خَالٌ لِي، يُقَالُ لَهُ أَبُو بُرْدَةَ، قَبْلَ الصَّلاَةِ، فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : شَاتُكَ شَاةُ لَحْمٍ فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ عِنْدِي دَاجِنًا جَذَعَةً مِنَ الْمَعَزِ قَالَ: اذْبَحْهَا، وَلَنْ تَصْلُحَ لِغَيْرِكَ ثُمَّ قَالَ: مَنْ ذَبَحَ قَبْلَ الصَّلاَةِ فَإِنَّمَا يَذْبَحُ لِنَفْسِهِ، وَمَنْ ذَبَحَ بَعْدَ الصَّلاَةِ فَقَدْ تَمَّ نُسُكُهُ وَأَصَابَ سُنَّةَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ
Hazrat Bara bin Azib (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that my uncle Abu Burdah (may Allah be pleased with him) had performed the sacrifice before the Eid prayer. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to him, "Your goat is only a goat for meat." He submitted, "O Messenger of Allah! I have a kid goat that is less than a year old." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "You may slaughter it, but after you, it will not be permissible for anyone else (to sacrifice such a goat)." Then he said, "Whoever performs the sacrifice before the Eid prayer, he only slaughters an animal for his own food, and whoever performs the sacrifice after the Eid prayer, his sacrifice is complete and he attains the Sunnah of the Muslims."
Hadith 1282
1282 صحيح حديث أَنَسٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : مَنْ ذَبَحَ قَبْلَ الصَّلاَةِ فَلْيُعِدْ فَقَامَ رَجُلٌ، فَقَالَ: هذَا يَوْمٌ يُشْتَهى فِيهِ اللَّحْمُ وَذَكَرَ مِنْ جِيرَانِهِ فَكَأَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَدَّقَهُ قَالَ: وَعِنْدِي جَذَعَةٌ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنْ شَاتَيْ لَحْمٍ، فَرَخَّصَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَلاَ أَدْرِي أَبَلَغَتِ الرُّخْصَةُ مَنْ سِوَاهُ، أَمْ لاَ
Hazrat Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever offers the sacrifice before the prayer should offer it again. At this, a man (Abu Burdah) stood up and said that this is a day in which there is a great desire for meat, and he described the hardship of his neighbors. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) considered him truthful. The man said that I have a one-year-old she-goat which is dearer to me than two goats of meat. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) granted him permission to offer that as a sacrifice. Now I do not know whether this permission is for others as well or not.
Hadith 1283
1283 صحيح حديث عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ رضي الله عنه، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَعْطَاهُ غَنَمًا يَقْسِمُهَا عَلَى صَحَابَتِهِ، فَبَقِيَ عَتُودٌ، فَذَكَرَهُ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ: ضَحِّ أَنْتَ
Hazrat Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) entrusted some goats to him so that he could distribute them among the companions (may Allah be pleased with them). One kid goat remained. When he mentioned this to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he said, "Then sacrifice it."
