Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that at a place called Marr az-Zahran, we chased a hare. People ran after it and tired it out, and I reached close and caught it. Then I brought it to Abu Talha (may Allah be pleased with him). He slaughtered it and sent the meat from its back or both of its thighs to the service of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). Later, Shu’bah said with certainty that it was both thighs that were sent. There is no doubt about it. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) accepted it. And did he (peace and blessings be upon him) eat from it?
