Hadith 1246
Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to visit Umm Haram (may Allah be pleased with her). (She was the maternal aunt of Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), who was married to Hazrat Ubadah bin Samit.) One day, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) went to her, and she presented food to him and began to pick lice from his head. During this time, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) fell asleep. When he woke up, he was smiling. Umm Haram (may Allah be pleased with her) said, "I asked, O Messenger of Allah! What makes you smile?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "Some people of my Ummah were presented before me, and they were riding in the middle of the sea in the way of Allah, just as kings sit on their thrones, or as kings ride on moving thrones." (This doubt was from the narrator Ishaq.) Umm Haram (may Allah be pleased with her) said, "I submitted, O Messenger of Allah! Pray to Allah that He makes me among them." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed for her. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) rested his head and slept again. This time too, when he woke up, he was smiling. I asked, "O Messenger of Allah! What makes you smile?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "Some people of my Ummah were presented before me, and they were going for battle in the way of Allah, as before." This time too, he said the same. She narrated, "I submitted, O Messenger of Allah! Pray to Allah for me that He makes me among them." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "You will be among the first army (that will undertake jihad by sea)." Accordingly, during the time of Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him), Umm Haram (may Allah be pleased with her) traveled by sea, and when she came out of the sea, her mount threw her down, and she passed away in that accident.
