Hazrat Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that Rubai', who was the paternal aunt of Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), broke the front tooth of a girl from the Ansar. The family of the girl demanded retribution (qisas) and presented themselves before the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also ordered qisas. The uncle of Hazrat Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him), Anas bin Nadr (may Allah be pleased with him), said, "No, by Allah! Her tooth will not be broken." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "O Anas! But the command of the Book of Allah is qisas." Then the family of the girl agreed to pardon and accepted compensation (diyah). Upon this, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said that there are many servants of Allah that if they swear by Allah, Allah fulfills their oath.
