Hazrat Ma’rur narrates that I met Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) at Rabadhah. He was wearing a suit, and his slave was also wearing a suit. I inquired about the reason for this, so he said: I had once abused a person, that is, my slave, and taunted him about his mother (i.e., insulted him), so when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) learned of this, he said to me: O Abu Dharr! You have taunted him about his mother; indeed, there is still some effect of the Age of Ignorance left in you. (Remember) those under you are your brothers. Allah has placed them under your authority (for some wisdom of His), so whoever has his brother under him, he should feed him what he himself eats, and clothe him with what he himself wears, and do not burden them with work that is too much for them, and if you do assign them a difficult task, then help them yourself.

Narrated Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him): The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: When the servant of any one of you brings his food to him, if he cannot seat him with himself, then at least let him give him a morsel or two from that food, for he has endured its heat and preparation.
