Hadith 1042
1042 صحيح حديث جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، قَالَ: مَرِضْتُ مَرَضًا فَأَتَانِي النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَعُودُنِي وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ، وَهُمَا مَاشِيَانِ، فَوَجَدَانِي أُغْمِيَ عَلَيَّ، فَتَوَضَّأَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، ثُمَّ صَبَّ وَضُوءَهُ عَلَيَّ، فَأَفَقْتُ، فَإِذَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ كَيْفَ أَصْنَعُ فِي مَالِي كَيْفَ أَقْضِي فِي مَالي فَلَمْ يُجِبْنِي بِشَيْءٍ حَتَّى نَزَلَتْ آيَةُ الْمِيرَاثِ
Hazrat Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that once I fell ill, so the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) came to visit me on foot. These noble personalities saw that unconsciousness had overcome me, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed ablution and sprinkled some of the water from his ablution on me. This made me regain consciousness, and I saw that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was present. I said, "O Messenger of Allah! What should I do with my wealth, how should I decide about it?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not give me any answer until the verse of inheritance was revealed.
