Hadith 1032
1032 صحيح حديث أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رضي الله عنه، أَنَّ رَجُلاً أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَتَقَاضَاهُ فَأَغْلَظَ، فَهَمَّ بِهِ أَصْحَابُهُ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : دَعُوهُ، فَإِنَّ لِصَاحِبِ الْحَقِّ مَقَالاً ثمَّ قَالَ: أَعْطُوهُ سِنًّا مِثْلَ سِنِّهِ قَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِلاَّ أَمْثَلَ مِنْ سِنِّهِ فَقَالَ: أَعْطُوهُ، فَإِنَّ مِنْ خَيْرِكُمْ أَحْسَنَكُمْ قَضَاءً
Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that a man came to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) to demand repayment of his debt and spoke harshly. The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) became angry and moved towards him, but the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Leave him, for the one who has a right over someone also has the right to speak." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Give him an animal of the same age as the one owed to him." The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) said, "O Messenger of Allah! Only an animal older than that is available (but not of the same age)." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Give him that one, for the best person is the one who pays the rights of others in full."
