Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) was asked about the wages of the one who performs cupping. He said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had cupping done. Abu Taybah (Nafi’ or Maisarah) performed the cupping for him. The Prophet gave him two sa’ of dates as wages, and he spoke to his (Abu Taybah’s) masters (the Banu Harithah), so they reduced the levy they used to take from him. And the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “The best treatment you use is cupping, and the best medicine is the use of Indian aloeswood (oud al-hindi).”
