Hadith 982
982 صحيح حديث عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ نَهى عَنْ بَيْعِ الثِّمَارِ حَتَّى يَبْدُوَ صَلاَحُهَا، نَهى الْبَائِعَ وَالْمُبْتَاعَ
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade selling fruits before they ripen. His prohibition was for both the seller and the buyer.
Hadith 983
983 صحيح حديث جَابِرٍ رضي الله عنه، قَالَ: نَهى النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ بَيْعِ الثَّمَرِ حَتَّى يَطِيبَ، وَلاَ يُبَاعُ شَيْءٌ مِنْهُ إِلاَّ بِالدِّينَارِ وَالدِّرْهَمِ إِلاَّ الْعَرَايَا
Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade selling dates before they ripen, and that not even a little of them should be sold for anything other than dirhams and dinars (i.e., cash), except that he permitted the practice of 'ariyyah.
Hadith 984
984 صحيح حديث ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: نَهى النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ بَيْعِ النَّخْلِ حَتَّى يَأْكُلَ أَوْ يُؤْكَلَ وَحَتَّى يُوزَنَ قِيلَ لَهُ: وَمَا يُوزَنُ قَالَ رَجُلٌ عِنْدَهُ: حَتَّى يُحْرَزَ
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade selling dates on the tree until they become fit for eating, and likewise until they become fit for weighing. It was asked, "What does it mean to be fit for weighing?" So a person who was sitting near him said, "It means until it becomes such that it can be estimated."
