Hadith 952
952 صحيح حديث سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ السَّاعِدِيِّ، أَنَّ عُوَيْمِرًا الْعَجْلاَنِيَّ جَاءَ إِلَى عَاصِمِ بْنِ عَدِيٍّ الأَنْصَارِيِّ، فَقَالَ لَهُ: يَا عَاصِمُ أَرَأَيْتَ رَجُلاً وَجَدَ مَعَ امْرَأَتِهِ رَجُلاً أَيَقْتُلُهُ فَتَقْتُلُونَهُ، أَمْ كَيْفَ يَفْعَلُ سَلْ لِي يَا عَاصِمُ عَنْ ذَلِكَ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ؛ فَسَأَلَ عَاصِمٌ عَنْ ذَلِكَ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَكَرِهَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْمَسَائِلَ وَعَابَهَا، حَتَّى كَبُرَ عَلَى عَاصِمٍ مَا سَمِعَ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَلَمَّا رَجَعَ عَاصِمٌ إِلَى أَهْلِهِ، جَاءَ عُوَيْمِرٌ، فَقَالَ: يَا عَاصِمُ مَاذَا قَالَ لَكَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ عَاصِمٌ: لَمْ تَأْتِنِي بِخَيْرٍ، قَدْ كَرِهَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْمَسْئَلَةَ الَّتِي سَأَلْتُهُ عَنْهَا قَالَ عُوَيْمِرٌ: وَاللهِ لاَ أَنْتَهِي حَتَّى أَسْأَلَهُ عَنْهَا فَأَقْبَلَ عُوَيْمِرٌ حَتَّى أَتَى رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَسْطَ النَّاس فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَرَأَيْتَ رَجُلاً وَجَدَ مَعَ امْرَأَتِهِ رَجُلاً أَيَقْتُلُهُ فَتَقْتُلُونَهُ أَمْ كَيْفَ يَفْعَلُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : قَدْ أَنْزَلَ اللهُ فِيكَ وَفِي صَاحِبَتِكَ، فَاذْهَبْ فَأْتِ بِهَا قَالَ سَهْلٌ: فَتَلاَعَنَا، وَأَنَا مَعَ النَّاسِ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَلَمَّا فَرَغَا قَالَ عُوَيْمِرٌ: كَذَبْتُ عَلَيْهَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنْ أَمْسَكْتُهَا؛ فَطَلَّقَهَا ثَلاَثًا، قَبْلَ أَنْ يَأْمُرَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ
Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa’d Sa’idi (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that ‘Uwaymir ‘Ajlani (may Allah be pleased with him) came to ‘Asim bin ‘Adi Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) and said to him, “O ‘Asim, what do you think, if a man finds someone else with his wife, can he kill him? And then, would you kill (the husband) in retaliation, or what should he do?” ‘Asim, please ask this issue from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) for me. When Sayyiduna ‘Asim (may Allah be pleased with him) asked the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) about this issue, he disliked these questions, and his words in this regard were hard on Sayyiduna ‘Asim (may Allah be pleased with him). When he returned home, Sayyiduna ‘Uwaymir (may Allah be pleased with him) came and asked him, “Tell me, what did the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say to you?” Sayyiduna ‘Asim (may Allah be pleased with him) replied, “You have put me in trouble. The question you asked was displeasing to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).” Sayyiduna ‘Uwaymir (may Allah be pleased with him) said, “By Allah, I will not rest until I ask this issue directly from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).” So he set out and reached the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), who was sitting among the people. Sayyiduna ‘Uwaymir (may Allah be pleased with him) said, “O Messenger of Allah, if a man finds someone else with his wife, what do you think, should he kill him? But in that case, would you kill him (the husband), or what should he do?” The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “Allah the Exalted has revealed something about your wife, so go and bring your wife with you.” Sayyiduna Sahl (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that then both (husband and wife) performed li’an (mutual cursing). I was also present with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) at that time along with the people. When both finished the li’an, Sayyiduna ‘Uwaymir said, “O Messenger of Allah, if after this I keep her with me, (it would mean) I am a liar.” So, before the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) gave any order, he divorced his wife three times.
Hadith 953
953 صحيح حديث ابْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ لِلْمُتَلاَعِنَيْنِ: حِسَابُكُمَا عَلَى اللهِ، أَحَدُكُمَا كَاذِبٌ، لاَ سَبِيلَ لَكَ عَلَيْهَا قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَالِي قَالَ: لاَ مَالَ لَكَ، إِنْ كُنْتَ صَدَقْتَ عَلَيْهَا فَهُوَ بِمَا اسْتَحْلَلْتَ مِنْ فَرْجِهَا، وَإِنْ كُنْتَ كَذَبْتَ عَلَيْهَا فَذَاكَ أَبْعَدُ، وَأَبْعَدُ لَكَ مِنْهَا
Sayyiduna Ibn Umar narrated that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said to the husband and wife who performed li'an: "Your reckoning will be with Allah. One of you is certainly lying. There is now no way for you (i.e., the husband) to have her (the wife).” The husband asked, “O Messenger of Allah, what about my wealth?” The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, “That is no longer your wealth. If you spoke the truth about her, then it is in exchange for the fact that you made her private parts lawful for yourself. And if you have falsely accused her, then you deserve even less to get anything.”
Hadith 954
954 صحيح حديث ابْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لاَعَنَ بَيْنَ رَجُلٍ وَامْرَأَتِهِ، فَانْتَفَى مِنْ وَلَدِهَا، فَفَرَّقَ بَيْنَهُمَا، وَأَلْحَقَ الْوَلَدَ بِالْمَرْأَةِ
Sayyiduna Ibn Umar narrated that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) conducted li'an between a man and his wife. Then the man denied the boy of his wife, so the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) separated the two and gave the boy to the woman.
Hadith 955
955 صحيح حديث ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، أَنَّهُ ذُكِرَ التَّلاَعُنُ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ عَاصِمُ بْنُ عَدِيٍّ فِي ذَلِكَ قَوْلاً ثُمَّ انْصَرَفَ فَأَتَاهُ رَجُلٌ مِنْ قَوْمِهِ يَشْكُو إِلَيْهِ أَنَّهُ قَدْ وَجَدَ مَعَ امْرَأَتِهِ رَجُلاً، فَقَالَ عَاصِمٌ: مَا ابْتُلِيتُ بِهذَا إِلاَّ لِقَوْلِي فَذَهَبَ بِهِ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَأَخْبَرَهُ بِالَّذِي وَجَدَ عَلَيْهِ امْرَأَتَهُ وَكَانَ ذَلِكَ الرَّجُلُ مُصْفَرًّا، قَلِيلَ اللَّحْمِ، سَبْطَ الشَّعَرِ؛ وَكَانَ الَّذِي ادَّعَى عَلَيْهِ، أَنَّهُ وَجَدَهُ عِنْدَ أَهْلِهِ، خَدْلاً، آدَمَ، كَثِيرَ اللَّحْمِ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : اللهُمَّ بَيِّنْ فَجَاءَتْ شَبِيهًا بِالرَّجُلِ الَّذِي ذَكَرَ زَوْجُهَا أَنَّهُ وَجَدَهُ، فَلاَعَنَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَيْنَهُمَا قَالَ رَجُلٌ لاِبْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، فِي الْمَجْلِسِ: هِيَ الَّتِي قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَوْ رَجَمْتُ أَحَدًا بِغَيْرِ بَيِّنَةٍ رَجَمْتُ هذِهِ فَقَالَ: لاَ، تِلْكَ امْرَأَةٌ كَانَتْ تُظْهِرُ فِي الإِسْلاَمِ السُّوءَ
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas narrated that the mention of li'an (mutual cursing) was made in the gathering of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), and Sayyiduna Asim (may Allah be pleased with him) said something in this regard (that if I saw another man with my wife, I would kill him right there) and left. Then a companion from his tribe (Awaimir, may Allah be pleased with him) came to him with the complaint that he had found another man with his wife. Asim said, "Today I am afflicted with this trial because of what I said before the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)." Then he took him to the service of the Prophet (peace be upon him) and told the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) about the incident in which this companion had found his wife. This man was of yellow complexion, lean (thin), and had straight hair, and the one about whom he claimed to have found with his wife (in seclusion) was of a sturdy build, wheat-colored, and well-fleshed. Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) prayed, "O Allah, make this matter clear." Consequently, the woman gave birth to a child resembling the man about whom the husband had claimed to have found with his wife. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) made the husband and wife perform li'an (mutual cursing). A student in the gathering asked Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas, "Is this the woman about whom the Prophet (peace be upon him) said that if I could stone anyone without evidence, I would stone this woman?" Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas said, "No, (this statement of the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him) was about the woman whose adultery became evident during the time of Islam."
Hadith 956
956 صحيح حديث الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ سَعْد ابْنُ عُبَادَةَ: لَوْ رَأَيْتُ رَجُلاً مَعَ امْرَأَتِي لَضَرَبْتُهُ بِالسَّيْفِ غَيْرَ مُصْفَحٍ فَبَلَغَ ذلِكَ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ: تَعْجَبُونَ مِنْ غَيْرَةِ سَعْدٍ وَاللهِ لأَنَا أَغْيَرُ مِنْهُ، وَاللهُ أَغْيَرُ مِنِّي وَمِنْ أَجْلِ غَيْرَةِ اللهِ حَرَّمَ الْفَوَاحِشَ مَا ظَهَرَ مِنْهَا وَمَا بَطَنَ؛ وَلاَ أَحَدَ أَحَبُّ إِلَيْهِ الْعُذْرُ مِنَ اللهِ، وَمِنْ أَجْلِ ذَلِك بَعَثَ الْمُبَشِّرِينَ وَالْمُنْذِرِينَ؛ وَلاَ أَحَدَ أَحَبُّ إِلَيْهِ الْمَدْحَةُ مِنَ اللهِ، وَمِنْ أَجْلِ ذَلِكَ وَعَدَ اللهُ الْجَنَّةَ
Hazrat Mughirah bin Shu’bah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that Hazrat Sa’d bin ‘Ubadah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: If I see a man with my wife, I would strike his neck with a sword. When this statement reached the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), he said: Are you amazed at Sa’d’s sense of honor? Indeed, I am more possessive than him, and Allah is more possessive than me. And it is due to this sense of honor that Allah has forbidden indecencies, whether apparent or hidden. And no one likes excuses more than Allah, which is why He sent the bearers of glad tidings and warners. And no one likes praise more than Allah, and for this reason, He has promised Paradise.
Hadith 957
957 صحيح حديث أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَجُلاً أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ وُلِدَ لِي غُلاَمٌ أَسْوَدُ، فَقَالَ: هَلْ لَكَ مِنْ إِبِلٍ قَالَ: نَعَمْ، قَالَ: مَا أَلْوَانَهَا قَالَ: حُمْرٌ قَالَ: هَلْ فِيهَا مِنْ أَوْرَقَ قَالَ: نَعَمْ قَالَ: فَأَنَّى ذَلِكَ قَالَ: لَعَلَّهُ نَزَعَهُ عِرْقٌ قَالَ: فَلَعَلَّ ابْنكَ هذَا نَزَعَهُ
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that a companion came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "O Messenger of Allah! A dark-skinned child has been born to me." Upon this, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) asked, "Do you have any camels?" He replied, "Yes." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) asked, "What are their colors?" He said, "They are red." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) asked, "Is there any among them that is blackish-white?" He replied, "Yes." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) then asked, "How did that come about?" He said, "Perhaps it inherited this from some ancestor among its forefathers." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "In the same way, this child of yours has inherited from some distant relative among his ancestors."
