Hadith 926
926 صحيح حديث عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ: كُنْتُ أَغَارُ عَلى اللاَّتِي وَهَبْنَ أَنْفُسَهُنَّ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَأَقُولُ: أَتَهَبُ الْمَرْأَةُ نَفْسَهَا فَلَمَّا أَنْزَلَ اللهُ تَعَالَى (تُرْجِى مَنْ تَشَاءُ مِنْهُنَّ وَتُؤْوى إِلَيْكَ مَنْ تَشَاءُ وَمَنِ ابْتَغَيْتَ مِمَّنْ عَزَلْتَ فَلاَ جُنَاحَ عَلَيْكَ) قُلْتُ: مَا أُرَى رَبَّكَ إِلاَّ يُسَارِعُ فِي هَوَاكَ
Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated that I used to feel great jealousy towards those women who would offer themselves to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). I would say, "Can a woman offer herself to a man like that?" Then when Allah the Exalted revealed this verse: "You may defer any of them you wish, and take to yourself any you wish, and there is no blame upon you if you invite any of those whom you had set aside" (: Al-Ahzab 51), I said, "I see that your Lord hastens to fulfill your wishes."
