Hadith 922
922 صحيح حديث عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ: اخْتَصَمَ سَعْدُ بْنُ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ وَعَبْدُ بْنُ زَمْعَةَ فِي غُلاَمٍ؛ فَقَالَ سَعْدٌ: هذَا، يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ابْنُ أَخِي عُتْبَةَ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ، عَهِدَ إِلَيَّ أَنَّهُ ابْنُهُ، انْظُرْ إِلَى شَبَهِهِ، وَقَالَ عَبْدُ بْنُ زَمْعَةَ: هذَا أَخِي، يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ وُلِدَ عَلَى فِرَاشِ أَبِي مِنْ وَلِيدَتِهِ فَنَظَرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى شَبَهِهِ فَرَأَى شَبَهًا بَيِّنًا بِعُتْبَةَ، فَقَالَ: هُوَ لَكَ يَا عَبْدُ، الْوَلَدُ لِلْفِرَاشِ وَلِلْعَاهِرِ الْحَجَرُ، وَاحْتَجِبِي مِنْهُ يَا سَوْدَة بِنْتَ زَمْعَةَ فَلَمْ تَرَهُ سَوْدَةُ قَطُّ
Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated that Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) and ‘Abd bin Zam’ah (may Allah be pleased with him) had a dispute regarding a boy. Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) said, “O Messenger of Allah, this is the son of my brother ‘Utbah bin Abi Waqqas. He made a bequest that this is his son. You yourself can see the resemblance between him and my brother.” But ‘Abd bin Zam’ah (may Allah be pleased with him) said, “O Messenger of Allah, this is my brother. He was born on my father’s bed and is from his slave woman’s womb.” The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saw the boy’s appearance, and it clearly resembled ‘Utbah, but he said, “O ‘Abd, the boy will remain with you, for the child belongs to the bed, and for the adulterer is only the stone. And O Sawdah bint Zam’ah (may Allah be pleased with her), observe veil from this boy.”
Hadith 923
923 صحيح حديث أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ: الْوَلَدُ لِصَاحِبِ الْفِرَاشِ
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The child belongs to the (owner of the) bed."
