Hadith 841
841 صحيح حديث عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ: قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : لَوْلاَ حَدَاثَةُ قَوْمِكِ بِالْكُفْرِ لَنَقَضْتُ الْبَيْتَ ثُمَّ لَبَنَيْتُهُ عَلَى أَسَاسِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ، فَإِنَّ قُرَيْشًا اسْتَقْصَرَتْ بِنَاءَهُ وَجَعَلَتْ لَهُ خَلْفًا
Narrated by Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her): The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me, "If your people had not only recently abandoned disbelief, I would have demolished the Ka'bah and rebuilt it upon the foundations of Ibrahim (peace be upon him), because the Quraysh had reduced its size. I would have made one door and placed another door opposite to it."
Hadith 842
842 صحيح حديث عَائِشَةَ، زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَهَا: أَلَمْ تَرَىْ أَنَّ قَوْمَكِ لَمَّا بَنَوُا الْكَعْبَةَ اقْتَصَرُوا عَنْ قَوَاعِدِ إِبْرَاهيمَ فَقُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَلاَ تَرُدُّهَا عَلَى قَوَاعِدِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ: لَوْلاَ حِدْثَانُ قَوْمِكِ بِالْكفْرِ لَفَعَلْتُ فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ رضي الله عنه (هُوَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ) : لَئِنْ كَانَتْ عَائِشَةُ سَمِعَتْ هذَا مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَا أُرَى رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَرَكَ اسْتِلاَمَ الرُّكْنَيْنِ اللَّذَيْنِ يَلِيَانِ الْحِجْرَ إِلاَّ أَنَّ الْبَيْتَ لَمْ يُتَمَّمْ عَلَى قَوَاعِدِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ
The purified wife of the Noble Prophet (peace be upon him), Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said to me: "Do you know, when your people rebuilt the Ka'bah, they left out the foundation of Ibrahim?" I said, "O Messenger of Allah, then why do you not build it upon the foundation of Ibrahim?" He replied, "If your people were not so close to the time of disbelief, I would certainly have done so." Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: "If Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) heard this from the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) (and indeed Lady Aisha is truthful), then I think this is the reason why the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) did not kiss the corners of the walls adjacent to Hatim, because the Ka'bah was not completed upon the foundations of Ibrahim."
