Ubaidullah bin Juraij (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that I said to Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them), "O Abu Abdur Rahman! I have seen you doing four things which I have not seen your companions doing." He said, "O Ibn Juraij! What are they?" Ibn Juraij said: "I saw that during Tawaf you do not touch any corner except the two Yemeni corners. (Secondly) I saw you wearing Sabti shoes, and (thirdly) I saw that you use yellow color, and (fourthly) I saw that when you are in Makkah, people, upon sighting the (Dhul-Hijjah) moon, begin to recite Talbiyah and enter into Ihram for Hajj, but you do not enter into Ihram until the eighth (of Dhul-Hijjah)." Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) replied, "As for the other corners, I do not touch them because I did not see the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) touching any corner except the Yemeni ones. As for the Sabti shoes, I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) wearing shoes whose leather had no hair, and he would perform ablution while wearing them, so I also like to wear them. As for the yellow color, I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) dyeing with yellow, so I also like to dye with that color. And as for entering into Ihram, I did not see the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) entering into Ihram until his she-camel set out with him."
