Hadith 704
704 صحيح حديث عَائِشَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ: مَنْ مَاتَ وَعَلَيْهِ صِيَامٌ صَامَ عَنْهُ وَلِيُّهُ
Narrated by Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her): The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "If a person dies and he had obligatory fasts due, then his guardian should fast on his behalf."
Hadith 705
705 صحيح حديث ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ أُمِّي مَاتَتْ وَعَلَيْهَا صَوْمُ شَهْرٍ، أَفأَقْضِيهِ عَنْهَا قَالَ: نَعَمْ قَالَ: فَدَيْنُ اللهِ أَحَقُّ أَنْ يُقْضى
Sayyiduna Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that a man came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "O Messenger of Allah, my mother has passed away and she still owed a month of fasting. Can I fast on her behalf to make up for it?" The Prophet replied, "Yes, Allah's debt is more deserving to be fulfilled."
