Hadith 561
561 صحيح حديث عَامِرِ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ: إِذَا رَأَيْتُمُ الْجَنَازَةَ فَقُومُوا حَتَّى تُخَلِّفَكُمْ
Sayyiduna Amir bin Rabi’ah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When you see a funeral procession, stand up and remain standing until the funeral passes by you.
Hadith 562
562 صحيح حديث عَامِرِ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ رضي الله عنه عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ: إِذَا رَأَى أَحَدُكُمْ جَنَازَةً، فَإِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ مَاشِيًا مَعَهَا، فَلْيَقُمْ حَتَّى يُخَلِّفَهَا أَوْ تخَلِّفهُ أَوْ تَوضَعَ مِنْ قَبْلِ أَنْ تُخَلِّفَهُ
Sayyiduna Amir bin Rabi’ah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When any one of you sees a funeral procession, if he is not accompanying it, he should stand until the funeral passes by or until the bier is placed down before proceeding.
Hadith 563
563 صحيح حديث أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ رضي الله عنه، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ: إِذَا رَأَيْتُمُ الْجَنَازَةَ فَقُومُوا، فَمَنْ تَبِعَهَا فَلاَ يَقْعُدْ حَتَّى تُوضَعَ
Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When you see a funeral procession, stand up, and whoever is accompanying the funeral should not sit down until the bier is placed down.
Hadith 564
564 صحيح حديث جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، قَالَ: مَرَّتْ بِنَا جَنَازَةٌ، فَقَامَ لَهَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَقُمْنَا بِهِ، فَقُلْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّهَا جَنَازَةُ يَهُودِيٍّ، قَالَ: إِذَا رأَيْتُمُ الْجِنَازَةَ فَقُومُوا
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that a funeral passed by us, so the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up and we also stood up. Then we said, "O Messenger of Allah, it was the funeral of a Jew." He said, "Whenever you see a funeral, stand up."
Hadith 565
565 صحيح حديث سَهْلِ بْنِ حُنَيْفٍ وَقَيْسِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى، قَالَ: كَانَ سَهْلُ بْنُ حُنَيْفٍ وَقَيْسُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ قَاعِدَيْنِ بِالْقَادِسِيَّةِ، فَمَرُّوا عَلَيْهِمَا بِجَنَازَةٍ فَقَامَا، فَقِيلَ لَهُمَا إِنَّهَا مِنْ أَهْلِ الأَرْضِ، أَيْ مِنْ أَهْلِ الذمَّةِ؛ فَقَالاَ: إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَرَّتْ بِهِ جَنَازَةٌ فَقَامَ، فَقِيلَ لَهُ إِنَّهَا جَنَازَةُ يَهُودِيٍّ، فَقَالَ: أَلَيْسَتْ نَفْسًا
Abdur Rahman bin Abi Laila narrates that Sayyiduna Sahl bin Hunaif and Sayyiduna Qais bin Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with them) were sitting at a place in Qadisiyyah when some people passed by carrying a funeral procession. Both of these elders stood up. It was said to them that the funeral was of a Dhimmi (non-Muslim under Muslim protection). Upon this, they said that a funeral had similarly passed by the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), and he stood up for it. Then it was said to him that it was the funeral of a Jew. He replied, "Is it not a soul?"
