Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated that Sayyiduna Abu Bakr Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) came to her while two girls from the Ansar were with her, singing the verses that the Ansar had recited on the day of the Battle of Bu'ath. Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: They were not professional singers. Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Musical instruments of Satan in the house of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)?" And it was the day of Eid. Finally, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him): "O Abu Bakr! Every nation has its festival, and today is our Eid."

Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated that one day the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) came to my house while two girls from the Ansar were singing poems about the events of the Battle of Bu'ath. The Prophet (peace be upon him) lay down on the bed and turned his face to the other side. Then, Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) came and scolded me, saying, "Is this the music of Satan in the presence of the Prophet (peace be upon him)?" Eventually, the Prophet (peace be upon him) turned towards him and said, "Let them be, remain silent." Then, when Sayyiduna Abu Bakr became occupied with another task, I signaled to the girls and they left. And it was the day of Eid. Some Abyssinians were playing with shields and spears. Now, either I said or the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Do you want to watch the game?" I said, "Yes." Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) made me stand behind him; my cheek was against his cheek, and he was saying, "Play, play, O Banu Arfida" (this was the title for the Abyssinians). Then, when I got tired, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Is that enough?" I said, "Yes." The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Then go."

Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that some people from Habsha were demonstrating a display with spears (small lances) in front of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), when Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) came and picked up pebbles and threw them at them, but the Prophet said, "Umar, let them display their game."
