Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that I bear witness that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: On the day of Friday, it is obligatory upon every young person to perform ghusl, use the miswak, and apply perfume if available.

Hazrat Tawoos (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) mentioned the hadith of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) regarding taking a bath on Friday. So I asked him, "Is the use of oil and perfume also necessary?" He replied, "I do not know."

Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Whoever performs ghusl of janabah on Friday and goes to offer the prayer, it is as if he has sacrificed a camel (if he reaches the mosque at the earliest time), and if he goes later, it is as if he has sacrificed a cow, and whoever goes third, it is as if he has sacrificed a horned ram. But when the Imam comes out for the sermon, the angels become engaged in listening to the sermon.
