Hadith 451
451 صحيح حديث عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ: سَمِعَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَارِئًا يَقْرَأُ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ، فَقَالَ: يَرْحَمُهُ اللهُ لَقَدْ أَذْكَرَنِي كَذَا وَكَذَا، آيَةً أَسْقَطْتُهَا مِنْ سُورَةِ كَذَا وَكَذَا
Narrated by Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) heard a reciter reciting the Qur'an in the mosque at night, so he said: May Allah have mercy on this man, he reminded me of such and such verses which I had left out from such and such surahs.
Hadith 452
452 صحيح حديث ابْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ: إِنَّمَا مَثَلُ صَاحِبِ الْقُرْآنِ كَمَثَلِ صَاحِبِ الإِبِلِ الْمُعَقَّلَةِ، إِنْ عَاهَدَ عَلَيْهَا أَمْسَكَهَا، وَإِنْ أَطْلَقَهَا ذَهَبَتْ
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The example of the one who has memorized the Qur'an is like the owner of a camel tied with a rope; if he keeps watch over it, he will be able to keep it, otherwise it will break the rope and run away.
Hadith 453
453 صحيح حديث عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ: قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : بِئْسَ مَا لأَحَدِهِمْ أَنْ يَقُولَ نَسِيتُ آيَةَ كَيْتَ وَكَيْتَ، بَلْ نُسِّيَ؛ وَاسْتَذْكِرُوا الْقُرْآنَ، فَإِنَّهُ أَشَدُّ تَفَصِّيًا مِنْ صُدُورِ الرِّجَالِ مِنَ النَّعَمِ
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: It is very bad for a person to say, "I forgot such and such verse," rather he should say, "I was made to forget." And continue reciting the Noble Qur'an, for its slipping away from the hearts of people is swifter than the escape of a camel.
Hadith 454
454 صحيح حديث أَبِي مُوسى، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ: تَعَاهَدُوا الْقُرْآنَ، فَوَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَهُوَ أَشَدُّ تَفَصِّيًا مِنَ الإِبِلِ فِي عُقُلِهَا
Sayyiduna Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Hold fast to the recitation of the Qur'an. By Him in Whose hand is my soul, it slips away faster than a camel that breaks its rope and runs away.
