Sayyiduna Malik bin Huwairith (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that I came to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) along with some men from my tribe (Banu Layth), and I stayed in his noble company for twenty nights. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was very kind and friendly. When he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) sensed our longing to return home, he said, "Now you may go. Go and teach your people religion, and (while traveling) continue to perform prayers. When the time for prayer comes, let one of you give the call to prayer (adhan), and let the eldest among you lead the prayer."
