Hadith 354
354 صحيح حديث أَبِي مَسْعُودٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: نَزَلَ جِبْرِيلُ فَأَمَّنِي فَصَلَّيْتُ مَعَهُ، ثُمَّ صَلَّيْتُ مَعَهُ، ثُمَّ صَلَّيْتُ مَعَهُ، ثُمَّ صَلَّيْتُ مَعَهُ، ثُمَّ صَلَّيْتُ مَعَهُ يَحْسُبُ بِأَصَابِعِهِ خَمْسَ صَلَوَاتٍ
Sayyiduna Abu Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: Jibreel (peace be upon him) descended and led me in prayer. I prayed with him, then (at another time) I prayed with him, then I prayed with him, then I prayed with him, then I prayed with him. He counted the five prayers on his fingers.
Hadith 355
355 صحيح حديث أَبِي مَسْعُودٍ الأَنْصَارِيِّ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ أَخَّرَ الصَّلاَةَ يَوْمًا، فَدَخَلَ عَلَيْهِ عُرْوَةُ بْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ، فَأَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ الْمُغِيرَةَ بْنَ شُعْبَةَ أَخَّرَ الصَّلاَةَ يَوْمًا وَهُوَ بِالْعِرَاقِ، فَدَخَلَ عَلَيْهِ أَبُو مَسْعُودٍ الأَنْصَارِيُّ؛ فَقَالَ: مَا هذَا يَا مُغِيرَةُ؛ أَلَيْسَ قَدْ عَلِمْتَ أَنَّ جِبْرِيلَ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَزَلَ فَصَلَّى فَصَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، ثُمَّ صَلَّى فَصَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، ثُمَّ صَلَّى فَصَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، ثُمَّ صَلَّى فَصَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، ثُمَّ صَلَّى فَصَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: بِهذَا أُمِرْتُ فَقَالَ عُمَرُ لِعُرْوَةَ: اعْلَمْ مَا تحَدِّثُ بِهِ، أَوَ إِنَّ جِبْرِيلَ هُو أَقَامَ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَقْتَ الصَّلاَةِ قَالَ عُرْوَةُ: كَذلِكَ كَانَ بَشِيرُ بْنُ أَبِي مَسْعُودٍ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ
Ibn Shihab narrates that one day ‘Umar bin ‘Abdul ‘Aziz (may Allah have mercy on him) delayed the (‘Asr) prayer. So, ‘Urwah bin Zubair went to him and informed him that (similarly) Mughirah bin Shu‘bah had once delayed the prayer (in Iraq) when he was (the governor) there. Then Abu Mas‘ud Ansari went to him and said, “Mughirah, what is this matter? Do you not know that when Jibril came, he offered the prayer and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) also offered the prayer. Then Jibril offered the prayer, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also offered the prayer. Then Jibril (‘alayhis salam) offered the prayer, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also offered the prayer. Then Jibril offered the prayer, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also offered the prayer. Then Jibril offered the prayer, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also offered the prayer. Then Jibril said, ‘I have been commanded in this way.’ Upon this, ‘Umar bin ‘Abdul ‘Aziz said to ‘Urwah, ‘Do you know what you are narrating? Did Jibril show the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) the times of prayer (by action)?’ ‘Urwah said, ‘Yes, in this way Bishr bin Abi Mas‘ud used to narrate from his father.’
Hadith 356
356 صحيح حديث عَائِشَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يُصَلِّي الْعَصْرَ وَالشَّمْسُ فِي حُجْرَتِهَا قَبْلَ أَنْ تَظْهَرَ
Narrated by Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her): The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to perform the Asr prayer at a time when sunlight was still present in his chamber, even before it climbed up the wall.
