Hadith 350
350 صحيح حديث أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: إِذَا أُقِيمَتِ الصَّلاَةُ فَلاَ تَأْتُوهَا تَسْعَوْنَ وَأْتُوهَا تَمْشُونَ، عَلَيْكمُ السَّكِينَةُ، فَمَا أَدْرَكْتُمْ فَصلُّوا وَمَا فَاتَكُمْ فَأَتِمُّوا
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saying: When the call for prayer (iqamah) is made, do not come running, but come with calmness and tranquility. Then whatever part of the prayer you catch (with the imam), perform it, and whatever you miss, complete it afterwards.
Hadith 351
351 صحيح حديث أَبِي قَتَادَةَ، قَالَ: بَيْنَمَا نَحْنُ نُصَلِّي مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، إِذْ سَمِعَ جَلَبَةَ رِجَالٍ، فَلَمَّا صَلَّى قَالَ: مَا شَأْنُكُمْ قَالُوا: اسْتَعْجَلْنَا إِلَى الصَّلاَةِ، قَالَ: فَلاَ تَفْعَلُوا، إِذَا أَتَيْتُمُ الصَّلاَةَ فَعَلَيْكُمْ بِالسَّكِينَةِ، فَمَا أَدْرَكْتُمْ فَصَلُّوا، وَمَا فَاتَكُمْ فَأَتِمُّوا
Sayyiduna Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) said that we were with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in prayer. He heard the sound of some people walking and talking. After the prayer, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) inquired, "What is the matter?" The people said, "We were hurrying for the prayer." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Do not do so. Rather, when you come for prayer, maintain dignity and calmness. Whatever part of the prayer you catch, perform it, and whatever you miss, complete it (afterwards)."
