Hadith 305
305 صحيح حديث عَائِشَةَ، أَنَّ أُمَّ حَبِيبَة وَأُمَّ سَلَمَةَ ذكَرَتَا كَنِيسَةً رَأَتَاهَا بِالْحَبَشَةِ، فِيهَا تَصَاوِيرُ، فَذَكَرَتَا ذلِكَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ: إِنَّ أُولئِكَ إِذَا كَانَ فِيهِمُ الرَّجُلُ الصَّالِحُ فَمَاتَ، بَنَوْا عَلَى قَبْرِهِ مَسْجِدًا، وَصَوَّرُوا فِيهِ تِلْكَ الصُّوَرَ، فَأُولئِكَ شِرَارُ الْخَلْقِ عِنْدَ اللهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ
Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that Umm Habibah and Umm Salamah both mentioned a church which they had seen in Abyssinia, and there were pictures in it. They mentioned this to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), so he said: Their custom was that when a righteous man among them died, they would build a place of worship over his grave and make such images in it. These people will be the worst of creation in the sight of Allah on the Day of Resurrection.
Hadith 306
306 صحيح حديث عَائِشَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ فِي مَرضِهِ الَّذِي مَاتَ فِيهِ: لَعَنَ اللهُ الْيَهُودَ وَالنَّصَارَى، اتَّخَذوا قُبُورَ أَنْبِيَائِهِمْ مَسَاجِدَ قَالَتْ: وَلَوْلاَ ذلِكَ لأبْرَزُوا قَبْرَهُ، غَيْرَ أَنِّي أَخْشى أَنْ يُتَّخَذَ مِسْجِدًا
Narrated by Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said during his final illness: "May Allah curse the Jews and Christians, for they took the graves of their prophets as places of worship." Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "If it were not for this fear, his grave would have been open (and not inside the chamber), because I fear that his grave might also be made into a mosque."
Hadith 307
307 صحيح حديث أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ: قَاتَلَ اللهُ الْيَهُودَ، اتَّخَذُوا قُبُورَ أَنْبِيَائِهِمْ مَسَاجِدَ
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "May Allah curse the Jews, for they took the graves of their prophets as places of worship."
Hadith 308
308 صحيح حديث عَائِشَةَ وَعَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالاَ: لَمَّا نَزَلَ برَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، طَفِقَ يَطْرَحُ خَمِيصَةَ لَهُ عَلَى وَجْهِهِ، فَإِذَا اغْتَمَّ بهَا كَشَفَهَا عَنْ وَجْهِهِ، فَقَالَ، وَهُوَ كَذلِكَ: لَعْنَةُ اللهِ عَلَى الْيَهُودِ وَالنَّصَارَى، اتَّخَذُوا قُبُورَ أَنْبِيائِهِمْ مَسَاجِدَ يُحَذِّرُ مَا صَنَعُوا
Lady Aisha and Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) narrated that during the illness of his death, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) would repeatedly place his cloak over his face, and when he felt some relief, he would remove the cloak. In this state of distress and anxiety, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "May Allah's curse be upon the Jews and Christians, for they took the graves of their prophets as places of worship." By saying this, he was warning the Ummah against such actions.
