Hadith 253
Narrated by Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both): The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "If any of your wives asks permission to go to the mosque (to perform prayer), do not prevent her, rather grant her permission."

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) said that Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) had a wife who used to come to the mosque to offer the Fajr and Isha prayers in congregation. She was told, "Despite knowing that Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) dislikes this and feels a sense of jealousy, why do you still go to the mosque?" She replied, "Then why does he not forbid me?" The people said, "Because of the saying of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): Do not prevent Allah’s female servants from coming to Allah’s mosques."
