Hadith 187
187 صحيح حديث جُبَيْرِ بْنِ مُطْعِمٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : أَمَّا أَنَا فَأُفِيضُ عَلَى رَأْسِي ثَلاَثًا، وَأَشَارَ بِيَدَيْهِ، كِلْتَيْهِمَا
Sayyiduna Jubair bin Mut’im (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I pour water over my head three times. And he indicated with both of his hands.
Hadith 188
188 صحيح حديث جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ: إِنَّهُ كَانَ عِنْدَهُ هُوَ وَأَبُوهُ، وَعِنْدَهُ قَوْمٌ، فَسَأَلُوهُ عَنِ الْغُسْلِ، فَقَالَ: يَكْفِيكَ صَاعٌ، فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ: مَا يَكْفِينِي؛ فَقَالَ جَابِرٌ: كَانَ يَكْفِي مَنْ هُوَ أَوْفَى مِنْكَ شَعَرًا، وَخَيْرٌ مِنْكَ ثُمَّ أَمَّنَا فِي ثَوْبٍ
Sayyiduna Abu Ja'far narrated that he and his father (Sayyiduna Zain al-Abidin) were with Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him), and some other people were also sitting there. Those people asked him about ghusl (ritual bath), so he said that one sa’ (a measure) is sufficient. Upon this, a person said, "This would not be enough for me." Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "It was sufficient for those who had more hair than you and who were better than you (i.e., the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him)." Then Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) led us in prayer wearing only one garment.
