Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that I and the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to perform ghusl from the same vessel. This vessel was called a "Faraq."

Abu Muslima (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that the brother of Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), (Sayyiduna Abdur Rahman bin Abi Bakr), asked her about the bathing (ghusl) of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). So she (may Allah be pleased with her) called for a vessel like a sa’ (a specific measure). Then she performed ghusl and poured water over herself, while there was a curtain between us and her.

Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Noble Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), when he would perform ghusl or (he said) when he would bathe, he would use from one sa’ up to five mudd (of water), and when he would perform wudu, he would use one mudd (of water).
