Hadith 37
37 صحيح حديث عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: أَرْبَعٌ مَنْ كنَّ فِيهِ كَانَ مُنافِقًا خَالِصًا، وَمَنْ كانَتْ فِيهِ خَصْلَةٌ مِنْهُنَّ كانَتْ فِيهِ خَصْلَةٌ مِنَ النِّفاقِ حَتّى يَدَعَهَا: إِذا اؤْتُمِنَ خَانَ، وَإِذا حَدَّثَ كَذَبَ، وَإِذا عاهَدَ غَدَرَ، وَإِذا خَاصَمَ فَجَرَ
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever possesses four habits is a pure hypocrite, and whoever has one of these four habits has a trait of hypocrisy until he gives it up: when he is entrusted, he betrays the trust; when he speaks, he lies; when he makes a promise, he breaks it; and when he quarrels, he abuses.
Hadith 38
38 صحيح حديث أَبي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: آيَةَ الْمُنافِق ثَلاثٌ: إِذا حَدَّثَ كَذَب، وَإِذا وَعَد أَخْلَفَ، وَإِذا اؤْتُمِنَ خَانَ
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The signs of a hypocrite are three: when he speaks, he lies; when he makes a promise, he breaks it; and when he is entrusted, he betrays the trust.
