949 صحيح حديث أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، قَالَ: جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ وَأَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ جَالِسٌ عِنْدَهُ، فَقَالَ: أَفْتِنِي فِي امْرَأَةٍ وَلَدَتْ بَعْدَ زَوْجِهَا بِأَرْبَعِينَ لَيْلَةً؛ فَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ: آخِرُ الأَجَلَيْنِ قُلْتُ أَنَا (وَأُولاَتُ الأَحْمَالِ أَجَلُهُنَّ أَنْ يَضَعْنَ حَمْلَهُنَّ) قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ: أَنَا مَعَ ابْنِ أَخِي (يَعْنِي أَبَا سَلَمَةَ) فَأَرْسَلَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ غُلاَمَهُ كُرَيْبًا إِلَى أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ يَسْأَلُهَا فَقَالَتْ: قُتِلَ زَوْجُ سُبَيْعَةَ الأَسْلَمِيَّةِ، وَهِيَ حُبْلَى، فَوَضَعَتْ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهِ بِأَرْبَعِينَ لَيْلَةً، فَخُطِبَتْ، فَأَنْكَحَهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَكَانَ أَبُو السَّنَابِلِ فِيمَنْ خَطَبَهَا
Abu Salamah (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that a man came to Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas while Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) was also sitting with him. The visitor asked, "Tell me the ruling about a woman whose husband died and she gave birth to a child four months after his death." Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas said, "A woman whose husband dies should observe the longer of the two waiting periods." I said, "(But in the Holy Qur'an, the ruling for their waiting period is) the waiting period for pregnant women is until they deliver their pregnancy (Al-Talaq 4)." Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "I am also with my nephew in this matter" (he meant Abu Salamah bin Abdur Rahman). Eventually, Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas sent his servant Kuraib to Umm al-Mu'mineen Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) to ask about this issue. Umm al-Mu'mineen informed that Subai'ah Aslamiyyah's husband (Sa'd bin Khawlah) was martyred while she was pregnant. Forty days after her husband's death, she gave birth to a child. Then a marriage proposal came to her, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) married her off. Abu Sanabil was also among those who sent her a marriage proposal.
