935 صحيح حديث أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رضي الله عنه، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ: لَوْلاَ بَنُو إِسْرَائِيلَ لَمْ يَخْنَزِ اللَّحْمُ، وَلَوْلاَ حَوَّاءُ لَمْ تَخُنْ أُنْثَى زَوْجَهَا
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that if it were not for the Children of Israel, meat would not decay, and if it were not for Hawwa (Eve), a woman would not betray her husband.
Brief Explanation
It is narrated from Qatadah that the Children of Israel were forbidden from storing the meat of quails (salwa), but they stored it nonetheless. As a punishment for this, Allah Ta'ala made it foul-smelling, and thus this matter continued in the same manner, and the meat began to spoil. (Murattib rahimahullah)
