Brief Explanation
Hadith Narrator: …Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar bin Khattab radi Allahu anhu became Muslim in his childhood along with his esteemed father and migrated (to Madinah). He was kept back from the battles of Badr and Uhud due to his young age, whereas he participated in the Battle of Khandaq (the Trench) at the age of fifteen. He was among those who pledged allegiance at Ridwan (Bay‘at al-Ridwan). Regarding him, the Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: “Abdullah is a very good man, if only he would stand (in prayer) at night.” After this, he slept very little at night. He narrated 2,630 ahadith, of which 186 are agreed upon (by Bukhari and Muslim). He passed away in 73 Hijri at the age of 84.
