Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated that when I was married to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), I was six years old. Then we migrated to Madinah and stayed with Banu Harith bin Khazraj. After arriving there, I developed a fever, and because of it, my hair began to fall out. Then my hair grew thick up to my shoulders. One day, my mother Umm Ruman (may Allah be pleased with her) came while I was playing on a swing with some of my friends. She called me, so I went to her, not knowing what she intended to do with me. Eventually, she took my hand and made me stand at the door of the house, and I was out of breath. After a little while, when I had calmed down, she took a little water and wiped it over my face and head. Then she took me inside the house, where some women of the Ansar were present. When they saw me, they prayed for me, saying, "May you come with blessings and good fortune." My mother handed me over to them, and they adorned me. After that, in the morning, suddenly the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came to me, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) himself greeted me. At that time, I was nine years old.
