843 صحيح حديث عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ: سَأَلْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الْجَدْرِ أَمِنَ الْبَيْتِ هُوَ قَالَ: نَعَمْ قُلْتُ: فَمَا لَهُمْ لَمْ يُدْخِلُوهُ فِي الْبَيْتِ قَالَ: إِنَّ قَوْمَكِ قَصَّرَتْ بِهِمِ النَّفَقَةُ قُلْتُ: فَمَا شَأْنُ بَابِهِ مُرْتَفِعًا قَالَ: فَعَلَ ذلِكَ قَوْمُكِ لِيُدْخِلُوا مِنْ شَاءُوا وَيَمْنَعُوا مَنْ شَاءُوا، وَلَوْلاَ أَنَّ قَوْمَكِ حَدِيثٌ عَهْدُهُمْ بِالْجَاهِلَيَّةِ، فَأَخَافُ أَنْ تَنْكِرَ قُلُوبُهُمْ أَنْ أُدْخِلَ الْجَدْرِ فِي الْبَيْتِ، وَأَنْ أُلْصِقَ بَابَهُ بِالأَرْضِ
Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated that I asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), "Is the Hatim also included in the House of Allah (Ka'bah)?" He replied, "Yes." Then I asked, "Why did people not include it in the Ka'bah?" He replied, "Your people ran short of funds." Then I asked, "Why is its door made so high?" He replied, "Your people did this so that they could let in whomever they wished and prevent whomever they wished. If your people had not recently left the period of ignorance and I did not fear that their hearts would be disturbed, I would have included the Hatim in the Ka'bah and made its door level with the ground."
