Ziyad bin Abi Sufyan wrote to Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that Abdullah bin Abbas has said: Whoever sends a sacrificial animal (hadi), all those things become forbidden for him which are forbidden for a pilgrim, until his sacrificial animal is slaughtered. Upon this, Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: What Ibn Abbas has said, the ruling is not like that. I myself braided the collars of the sacrificial animals of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) with my own hands, then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) put the collars on those animals with his own hands and sent them with my respected father.
