It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) that during the Farewell Pilgrimage, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stayed in Mina because people were coming to ask about their issues. A man came and said, "I shaved my head before slaughtering (the sacrifice) out of ignorance." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "(Now) perform the sacrifice, and there is no harm." Then another man came and said, "I offered the sacrifice before throwing the pebbles, out of ignorance." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "(Now) throw the pebbles, and there is no harm (in what you did first)." (Ibn Amr says that on that day) whatever matter the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about, in which someone had done something earlier or later (than its prescribed time), the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "(Now) do (the remaining act), and there is no harm."
