Hadith 722

Sayyiduna Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) asked a question, or perhaps he asked someone else while he was listening. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "O Abu so-and-so, did you not fast at the end of this month?" (The narrator says) I think Imran said that he meant Ramadan. That person replied, "No, O Messenger of Allah." So the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "When you have broken your fast (i.e., after Ramadan), then keep two fasts."
