Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Wealth is not in having many possessions, but true richness is the richness of the heart.

Brief Explanation
True richness is not in the abundance of wealth. For there are many who possess an abundance and plenty of wealth, yet they have not attained contentment, so they remain striving for more wealth, without concern for where the wealth is coming from (whether it is lawful or unlawful). It is as if such people, due to the intensity of their greed, are actually poor. Whereas the true rich person, who has been praised, is the one who is content with whatever he receives, and his soul becomes self-sufficient and unconcerned with more, and is pleased with what he has, not desiring excess.
