Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that during the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), Sadaqat al-Fitr was given as one sa' of wheat, or one sa' of dates, or one sa' of barley, or one sa' of raisins (dried grapes or dried figs). Then when Sayyiduna Mu'awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) came to Madinah and wheat became available, he said: I think that one mudd of this (wheat) is equivalent to two mudd of the other grains.
