Sayyiduna Khabbab bin Al-Aratt (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that we migrated with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) solely for the sake of Allah, and thus we were entitled to reward from Allah. Some of our companions passed away and did not see any fruit of their deeds (in this world). Mus'ab bin Umair (may Allah be pleased with him) was among those people. And some of our companions' fruits ripened and they are picking and eating them (i.e., enjoying the rewards in this world). (Sayyiduna Mus'ab bin Umair, may Allah be pleased with him) was martyred in the battle of Uhud. We found nothing for his shroud except a single sheet, and that too was such that if we covered his head with it, his feet would be exposed, and if we covered his feet, his head would be exposed. Upon seeing this, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) instructed that we should cover his head and place green grass (called idhkhir) over his feet.
