Sayyiduna Abu Bakrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Shall I not inform you of the greatest of sins?" He repeated this three times. The companions said, "Yes, O Messenger of Allah." He said, "Associating partners with Allah, disobedience to parents." At that time, he was reclining, but then he sat up straight and said, "And yes, false testimony as well." Sayyiduna Abu Bakrah says that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) repeated this statement so many times that we began to say, "We wish he would remain silent."
