Hadith 530

Sayyiduna Mughirah bin Shu’bah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that during the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), there was a solar eclipse on the day when his son, Sayyiduna Ibrahim (may Allah be pleased with him), passed away. Some people began to say that the eclipse occurred because of the death of Sayyiduna Ibrahim (may Allah be pleased with him). Therefore, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said that eclipses do not occur because of anyone’s death or life; rather, when you see it, perform prayer and make supplication.
