Brief Explanation
The wind that comes from the east is called "Saba" (Parwa). It was through the Saba that, on the occasion of the Battle of Ahzab, Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam was aided. When an army of approximately twelve thousand had besieged Madinah, Allah Ta'ala sent the Saba during a freezing winter night, which covered the faces of the polytheists with dust. Their fires were extinguished, their tents were uprooted, and they were defeated without any battle. The westerly wind (the wind from the west) is extremely fierce and blind. It is called "Aqeem" because it destroyed the people of Sayyiduna Hud alayhis salam, uprooted them from their very foundations, and annihilated their progeny. (Murattib rahimahullah)
