Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated that Sayyiduna Abu Bakr Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) came to her while two girls from the Ansar were with her, singing the verses that the Ansar had recited on the day of the Battle of Bu'ath. Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: They were not professional singers. Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Musical instruments of Satan in the house of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)?" And it was the day of Eid. Finally, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him): "O Abu Bakr! Every nation has its festival, and today is our Eid."

Brief Explanation
The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam permitted such singing. However, even in this, the condition is that the singer should not be a young woman, and the content of the melody should not be contrary to the noble Shari‘ah. And as for the absurdities and innovations that some Sufis have introduced in this matter, there is no disagreement regarding their prohibition. Many Sufis have been overcome by carnal desires to such an extent that many Sufis dance like madmen and children, and consider this a means of drawing near to Allah and regard it as a virtuous act. (Tashil al-Qari) Ba‘ath is the name of a fortress near which a long war was fought between the Aws and the Khazraj. There was severe bloodshed in it. Eventually, the Aws prevailed over the Khazraj. This battle continued for one hundred and twenty years, until Islam came and Allah, the Exalted, placed affection and love between them. Expressing joy on the day of Eid is among the symbols of the religion. From this hadith, the permissibility of listening to the singing voice of a girl has been deduced, even if she is a free girl, because the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam did not object to Sayyiduna Abu Bakr radi Allahu anhu hearing it. Rather, he rejected the objection of Sayyiduna Abu Bakr. And keep in mind that this is only when there is no fear of any kind of temptation (fitnah).
